GIFGlobe is a passion project of mine which is essentially a GIF search engine.
All images and GIFs on the website are automatically generated by a script that takes the SRT subtitles files and matches the timecodes up with frames from the show. It’s built, primarily, using PHP, MySQL, and FFMpeg.
Split on to separate sites for each show, visitors can search for any quote from the show and see a GIF of that scene. They are also able to create memes by typing custom text over images.
At the time of writing, the sites receive around 40,000 unique visitors a month.
